Commemorating the most famous variety coin in US History, the 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Cent.
For our 2021 strike, the Grove Minting Company commemorates the most famous United States error coin in history, the 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Cent. This commemorative is business-struck (overstruck) on an original BU 1955-P Lincoln Cent, at 19.05mm, weighing 3.1g, with a plain edge. Each piece is slightly unique in appearance, as the host coins were overstruck as originally sourced (rolls of BU cents ranging from MS-61 to MS-65). There may be slight specking, touches, or toning from one coin to another, adding to each coin's unique eye appeal. Multiple photos shown to illustrate possible subtle differences between examples.
